Paul is beautiful to visit any time of the year. The greenery of the landscape is accentuated especially during and after the rainy season from August to November. Below are some local festival dates to keep in mind when planning your trip.

During these days you will see a different, festive side of Paul.

• Santo Antão — January 17
• Carnival — the week preceding Ash Wednesday
• Our Lady of Fátima — May 13
• Saint Anthony of Pombas — June 13- Municipal Day
• Independence Day — July 5
• Our Lady of Piedade — August 15
• Christmas — December 25

Traditional festivals in Paul are commemorated on May 13th (Our Lady of Fátima - Lombinho), June 13th (Saint Anthony of Pombas - Vila), and on August 15th (Our Lady of Piedade - Janela).
June 13th is the municipal festival, in which the municipality office organizes and promotes numerous cultural, religious and athletic activities that begin in May and culminate on June 14.

The main events during this municipal festival are Cape Verdean Night, horse races, and the Popular Dance. It is a huge festival, and is considered one of the best in all of Cape Verde.
